Feature Story

Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters, Inc. (KSBBBS) has a lot to celebrate these days.

Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters was recently recognized by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America for leading the way nationwide in quality service. Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies top the charts in how long mentoring matches last, how long volunteers stay with the organization and how often staff check-in and provide support to volunteers.

KSBBBS was able to grow an additional 2% in children served over the previous year and served a total of 6,595 children in 2009.

“We are very proud of Kansans and their deep sense of caring and concern for children in our state, said Dawn DeArmond, President/CEO, KSBBBS “We are the second largest Big Brothers Big Sisters agency in the world thanks to the BIG hearts of Kansas volunteers and donors.”

However, there are still thousands of children in the state who are in need of a Big Brother or Big Sister mentor. For more information on how you can get involved in your local Big Brothers Big Sisters program, contact 888-KS4-BIGS
