The Cops for Kids program matches law enforcement with Little Brothers and Sisters, providing them with mentors and exposing them to the real people behind the badges. The program began more than 10 years ago after Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Easter was tragically killed by a 14-year-old runaway. Cops for Kids, which was started in Kevin’s honor, provides crime prevention programs in addition to recruiting law enforcement as mentors for at-risk youth in the community.

            The Cops for Kids Bowl is an annual Bowl For Kids’ Sake event held on the last Saturday in February. Area law enforcement bowl in order to provide funding for the Cops for Kids program. The bowl continues to grow and be a leader in all Bowl For Kids’ Sake events.

Cops for Kids has grown to serve more than 600 at-risk youth each year. It has been used as a model by many Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies across the country and has been featured on ABC News for its proven success.
