Our Impact

For the better, forever.

Our goal is to match Kansas youth facing adversity with caring, adult mentors in professionally supported one-to-one relationships to change their lives for the better, forever.

As a partner to parents and guardians of our youth (Littles), volunteers (Bigs), and communities, we are committed to seeing our Littles:

  • Achieve higher aspirations, greater confidence, and better relationships
  • Avoid risky behaviors
  • Reach educational success

Harris Interactive conducted an independent study of former Littles who are now adults and found:
  • 90% of alumni Littles said their mentor made them feel better about themselves
  • 46% report an annual household income over $75,000
  • 78% vote in elections
  • 76% learned right from wrong from their mentor
  • 50%+ said their mentor kept them from dropping out of high school

Nick's help in getting Jeremy to the maturity level that he has gotten him to, has kept him out of trouble, gotten him through high school, gotten him into Washburn Tech, where he is today, and where he will be in the future.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is very beneficial because Bigs become good role models to your kids. Anne has been a very good role model to Macy and I couldn’t ask for anything more.
